Welcome to Ava's homepage.

When you have children, time starts to move very quickly. Our parents warned us of this phenomenon when we started our new adventure. Like all good children though, we did not believe them. Of course our parents were right and time has sped up for us. While we are consistently surprised by the speed with which it now passes, we are absolutely amazed at Ava's progress in such a short time. Consider that less than a year ago she was not mobile, nor communicating. Compare that to today where she is walking, feeding herself, and able to make her wishes known. When she is hungry or wants more, she tells us using sign language. When she is tired and wants a nap, she says "nigh-nigh." When she wants something, she very insistently says "this" and points.
As adults we tend to take for granted the progress of our children. To realize that they change and develop more in a year than we will over decades is to foster a belief in miracles.
